A community seed bank not only ensures that the saved varieties remain in the public domain; it declares our communal commitment to keeping food and medicinal crops in the public domain.

 

It is essential that governments see this commitment, understand the importance and preserve our right to save seed.  This will serve to counteract the corporate pressure they are under to entrust the future of our food and medicinal supply to corporate interests.
